Bnei Akiva

With over 50,000 members around the globe, Bnei Akiva is the largest religious Zionist Jewish youth organisation in the world.

The organisation was founded in Israel in 1929 and established a branch in the UK in 1939. Its primary aim was and still is the promotion of Religious Chalutzik Aliyah.

The group believes that young Jewish people can find personal fulfillment by engaging in Zionist activities and embracing a Jewish way of life.

Bnei Akiva has been running summer camps for religious young men and women since 1942. Today it continues to run both summer and winter camps for over 900 participants. These camps are designed to offer informal religious education and an ‘experience of a religious Zionist lifestyle in the modern world’

As well as running its popular summer and winter camps, Bnei Akiva also provides the following:

  • Israel tours for post GCSE students
  • Gap year schemes in Israel
  • Residential weekends
  • Learning evenings around the country
